We have been stressing the fact in our corporate principles for a number of years that we take responsibility from economic, ecological and social perspectives. That is why constant investments in new energy-saving systems (e.g. combined heat and power plants with combined heat and power since 2014) and resource-saving technology is crucial. We are constantly striving to reduce energy consumption levels during our production to avoid the emission of pollutants as much as possible, and to recycle residues in a purposeful manner. This means that CO2 emissions should be avoided as much as possible and the environment in our Sauerland homeland should be protected.
The energy management of our company has been certified according to DIN ISO 50001 standards since 2018. We also have our sustainability efforts reviewed annually by the German Institute for Sustainability and Economics in Münster. Metten is involved in the initiative for climate-friendly medium-sized enterprises.
